Product Description Since 1924 Kalenborn has aquired extansive know-how in the field of abrasion prevention. What originally started with ABRESIST®-Fused Cast Basalt has today become a complete range of different liners with various specific properties.
Combining these different wear-resistant materials from Kalenborn has often proven an ideal and particularly economical solution for equipment subjected to varying types of abrasion in order to obtain the same resistance and longevity in all lined areas.
Product Feature The raw material for the manufacture of ABRESIST® is a dense basalt with a select, homogenous mineralogical structure which is molten at approx. 1520 K (1250o)and cast into sand molds. Steel molds are used for static or centrifugal casts. the special tempering and cooling process results in the extreme hardness and abrasion resistance.
Its properties and casting possibilities make ABRESIST® -Fused Cast Basalt from Kalenborn a versatile and economical wear prevention material.
The Kalenborn wear-resistant products program basically consists of 5 different materials.
- ABRESIST® (fused cast basalt/cast to size)
- KALCOR® (corundum-zirconia fusion cast/cast to size)
- KALOCER® (oxide ceramic/shaped to size)
- KALSICA® (silicon carbide ceramic/shaped to size and sintered)
- KALMETALL® (special steel alloy/cast to size)
Application ABRESIST® is ideally suited to protect equipment where abrasive materials are conveyed and cause sliding abrasion such as in pipes and bends for pneumatic or hydraulic systems, in cyclones and separators, in flumes and chain conveyors, in hoppers and silos, mixers, tanks, pulpers, etc. Other Information
